Records include: vital statistics, birth, marriage, and death certificates, and Business Certificates (DBAs), appeals and decisions of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Boards, and filings of notices of meetings and various minutes of Committees of the community, underground storage licenses and renewals.

Most documents are Public Record.

 

Licenses and Requests

Marriage Licenses

Marriage licenses are currently issued BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!

A Marriage License is valid 60 days from the date of filing and can be released to the couple after a three day waiting period. The ceremony must take place in Massachusetts.

Couples must apply together, in person to complete the application.

Fee: $30 cash or check, payable to Town of West Springfield

Information needed to complete Marriage Intentions:

  • Full Names of both parties
  • Surname to be used after marriage
  • Birthplace (City/Town, State, Country)
  • Full names of both sets of parents, including surname at birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Date and place of marriage
  • Officiant’s Name, Address, and Designation
  • Valid Photo ID for age verification (marriage under 18 is prohibited)

 

Vital Records Request

Copies of Birth, Death, and Marriage records can be ordered at the counter in the Clerk's Office or by mail. All vital records are $10 per copy. Payment by cash, check, or money order is required to place an order. Copies will be ready the following business day for pick-up or mailing.
