Christmas Tree Disposal

Re: 2018 Christmas tree disposal and Yard Waste

There are two no cost options for disposing of your natural Christmas tree:

  1. Bring your tree to the Transfer Station at 138 Palmer Avenue and dispose of it in the tree wood waste pile located next to the Yard Waste.
  2. Place your Christmas tree on the curb / tree belt starting Tuesday, January 2rd, 2018 and ending Friday, January 12th, 2018. Place it there on the same day your trash cart is collected during this time frame. Do not put the tree in your trash or recycling cart. Please cut the tree in half if it is over 5 feet and remember to remove ornaments, lights and metal or plastic base. Our progress on actually picking up the trees will vary. If you are not able to get your tree out during this time frame you can still dispose of it on your own at the Transfer Station.

Please be aware that the regular trash and recycling truck will not be collecting the trees, a separate truck will be collecting trees. Trees and Yard Waste are different waste streams that need to be handled separately.

Thank you for your recycling and composting efforts over the past year!!

The last curbside Yard Waste pickup was on Saturday December 2, 2017. Next year we are going to pick up one week later into the fall. If you still have Yard Waste to dispose of you will need to bring it to the Transfer Station. Curbside Yard Waste pickup will resume in April of 2018.
