the 2025 Annual Kids Fishing Derby!

In conjunction with West Springfield Youth Sports Association

DETAILS:

What: West Springfield Park & Recreation Department's Annual Fishing Derby

When: Saturday, April 12^th from 7:30AM - 11:00AM

Who: West Springfield Residents ages 14 & under are eligible to participate

Where: Piper Pond, "The Res" at 51 Smyrna St. in West Springfield

How Much: FREE, no fee or pre-registration required. Just bring what you need to fish! Participants must provide their own fishing poles, bait and tackle.

RULES:

Parents May Assist:

Baiting the hook
Casting the line
Netting the fish
Unhooking the fish
Untangling the fish

Fish: Limit 3 trout per day. Fish must be caught at Piper Pond, "The Res." No catching and releasing of fish is permitted. Cleaning of fish must be done offsite.

PRIZES:

Awards: Immediately following the derby, join us at 11:15AM for an awards ceremony.

Raffles: Visit us at the raffle table and enter for a chance to win fun prizes throughout the event! All raffle prizes are sponsored by the West Springfield Youth Sports Association.
