West Springfield High School Band and Choir to Hold Annual Pops Concert
The West Springfield High School Band and Choir will perform their annual Pops Concert on Friday, May 9th at 7:00 pm in the West Springfield High School gymnasium. The Pops Concert, a tradition in Westside dating back 70 years, is a community favorite that promises to deliver an evening of extraordinary music.
Band Director, Nathan Holesovsky, and Choir Director, Amy Taylor, will conduct the two-and-a-half-hour program featuring inspirational performances by the West Side Choir, West Side Singers, Music Theater Workshop, concert and marching bands and jazz ensemble. This year, the band will perform selections from composers Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini and Billy Joel along with an original piece written by West Springfield High School Senior Gavin Fleury. The choir will perform a selection of 90s pop music favorites from artists like Celine Dion and The Backstreet Boys.
Doors open at 6:00 pm. General admission tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors and children under 18. A limited number of tables will be available for purchase. Guests can reserve a table of four for $50 or a table of five for $60. For table reservations, contact the West Springfield Music Parents Association (WSMPA) at westsidemusic413@gmail.com.
The WSMPA will be selling light refreshments, flowers for performers and tickets for a spectacular array of raffle prizes. Funds raised from the event support music programs in West Springfield Public Schools.

This program is financed in part by a grant from the West Springfield Cultural Council (formerly the West Springfield Arts Council), a local agency which is funded by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
The WSMPA would also like to thank the West Springfield Rotary Club for their grant towards the purchase of folding tables for this event and future Pops Concerts.
